NEW PERFORMING ARTS THEATRE COMING TO LYNN UNIVERSITY

The Boca Raton Planning & Zoning Board has given permission to Lynn University to build a 750-seat performing arts center on its 123-acre campus, located 3 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. There will be a 2-story lobby. Live theatrical performances by the University’s theatre arts program and Conservatory of Music concerts are being planned, as well as other university-sponsored events.

It will be funded with a private $6-MM donation. During the second phase of the construction plan, an 8’ wide bike and walking path will be built, running east-west along the edge of the campus near a canal and it may eventually connect to the Patch Reef Trail.as requested by the zoning board. In addition, the normal height limit for a scenery loft is 50’ and the City Council needs to approve a height of 70’.

Accredited in 1967 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Lynn University has steadily grown to become a comprehensive university offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Lynn University focuses on the balance of a carefully selected core of liberal arts subjects within the framework of a curriculum that is career-oriented and provides both theoretical and practical preparation. Lynn is located among 7 freshwater lakes, palms and lush tropical foliage.
