CITY COMMISSION GIVES OK FOR MIDTOWN DELRAY PROJECT

Development will move forward for 116 townhouses, 32 being subject to city’s Workforce Housing Ordinance, and a nearly 30,000 sq ft medical office building at the corner of Linton Boulevard and Old Germantown Road on a 9.85 acre parcel. About 27,000 sq ft of preserve is included and a centrally located half-acre which 42 of the townhouses will offer views of. Across the street is Orchard View Park, 6 acres, with picnic pavilions, bbq grills, a playground and walking trail. The last two elements in the project met with the zoning board’s approval, unit size and width of garages. The property has been zoned as a Special Activities District to allow for the combination of townhouses and the medical facility. The medical facility is under contract. The site is about a ¼ mile from the Delray Medical Center. Also, the developer must create a master association to oversee the operations.
