FAU, working with the Boca Raton-based League for the Educational Awareness of the Holocaust (LEAH) is working to try to save the Center. The budget is about $200,000 a year, with half coming from the state through the university. LEAH picks up the other $100,000. State funding is from general revenue which has now been cut, so other funding sources are being pursued to prevent the Center closing.
